Are your mornings crazy, unorganised and stressful? Does your day begin with a blaring alarm clock, feeling tired, and rushing around trying to get ready for the day?

After a whirlwind morning, you settle into work and before you know it hours have whizzed by, and you are wondering if you are going to achieve anything on your to-do list for the day?

It’s safe to say that we could all do with picking up a few new tips to help with making over our morning routines, so we feel a little less stressed, and little less overwhelmed and achieve a bit more of what we want to during our days.

Something to make our mornings less stressful, more enjoyable, and more focused. The morning sets the tone for the rest of the day, which is why it’s so important to start the day with a clear mind.

Why? Because waking up with clarity leads to a more positive, productive, and peaceful mind.

Here are 3 tips to help you start the day off on a good note, and feel a little more in control:

Create your daily focus

  • Start your day with ‘me’ time, spend 5 to 10 minutes, focusing on your breath; you can use a guided meditation app to help with this like ‘headspace’.

  • As you are getting ready (showered, dressed, hair etc.)

  • say your affirmation to yourself.

  • Ask yourself, what are you going to put your energy into today, what are you going to achieve.

Use time effectively

We all have the same amount of time in the day; consciously choose how you are going to use that time.

  • What are your top three priorities?

  • When are you going to plan movement into your day? (set time, when are you going to get up and move, can be a walk, gym session, yoga at home, whatever works for you, but move every day)

Progress tracker

Create a system that works for you to track your progress and key your eye on the prize, ask yourself and write down your answer;

  • What did I achieve yesterday?

  • What is ongoing for today?

  • Did I move closer to my goal(s)?

If you use these tips, they will keep you focused and acting on purposefully. You will stop feeling the overwhelm in the morning.
